Thanks, Tanja. There are so many points in your blog post that I don't even know where to start.
What about public buildings that still don’t take global warming into account (hospitals!!!!)? I recently saw a report on TV that showed how large heat pumps (you know, those “evil” heat pumps 😉) can also be used to cool buildings in the summer!!)
Also on the TV news yesterday was a report about a school in Germany that has introduced a “Sahara schedule”: classes in all subjects shortened to 35 minutes so that the kids can be dismissed from the outdated buildings earlier at noon. (Off to the pool 😉)
Although, I've learned that it's hottest in the city in the evening.
As a little thank-you, I'm sending you a poem that I first wrote in German the day before yesterday and then translated for you. My goodness, nothing is as hard to translate as poetry, and AI certainly can't do it 😂.
Interesting report - https://carnegieendowment.org/russia-eurasia/research/2026/06/russia-elites-political-overview
Thanks a lot!

“In the streets”
From midday until evening
dead silence in the streets.
Now people open windows,
I hear voices, laughter, calls.
Cyclists out and about,
people with dogs,
children playing ball somewhere.
Life has returned at dusk.
Remaining storm clouds, black,
hang low and heavy,
and squeaking swifts hunt
insects in the streets.
