Spent two hours with Sasha & Nadia yesterday in a Vienna Starbucks, listening to how they and sons, Vlad (15) & Dima (8) survived 6 weeks in a cellar, escaped via DNR, Russia, Georgia. Goal: Canada.
First of all it’s hard to express feelings after reading this article especially with understanding that I know them in person. Most of all I’m really thankful that they were brave enough to share this heartbreaking journey with other people who has no idea what ACTUALLY happening on the territories of Ukraine. The range of emotions this story brings…tears and heartbreak; relief and happy that they look forward to a new life. What a story!! Than you for sharing!❤️
Remarkable. Faith is so important. Sasha & Nadia had unwavering faith. Thanks you Tanja and please thank them for sharing their story. I am certain they are not alone. This is the fragility of it all. Life and death are so close together for them. I do not have the capacity to imagine, but I can support as much as I can. Slava Ukraini.
Hi, we can help Sasha and his family come to Alberta, Canada, but I do not have Twitter. Can you contact me please? My email is knelson@instreamenvironmental.ca
Sasha is my friend, we used to work together. We always been in touch, and when russia just start ed invasion I asked him to move his family to west, but they was trapped in Mariupol for many many days an suffering there. I lost contact with him on beginning of March and was so happy when he called me in May.
I thanks for God for saving their's life's and hopping see him soon.
My dear, good luck to you, I really hope that everything will work out for you! I saw many people who had no home or relatives left. I really want this to be over as soon as possible. During the time that we lived together, you became like family. So brother and sister, I know exactly what you can do! Say hello to my nephews!
It may sound "empty" coming from someone like me, who hasn't lost everything this way, yet I started my life from zero a couple of times leaving all my things behind, no money, moving to other countries without an education, it's doable! I might not own a house in this life, but here (at least in Austria) hardly anyone who doesn't inherit one, can ever afford one anyways haha 🤷🏼♂️
Just don't lose hope for yourself either, is all I'm trying to say.
Most importantly I want to say I really admire your resilience and your energy with everything that has happened - truely! I'm sure you all will do very good in Canada :) Best of luck!

Wow thank you! I have given Sasha your email.
Even after reading everything written here, it's incredibly difficult to understand, accept and ultimately acknowledge everything as reality.
These people should find their way back to normal life as soon as possible. I wish you all the best and we as neighbors should help where we can.
